Places of Interest:
ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK:
Etosha National Park is situated to the west of Engelbrecht Safaris's camp.
It takes just two hours to reach on a good dirt road. This world famous park boasts a large variety of African game and over 300 bird species, which makes it a must to see when visiting Namibia.
On this Safari we do morning and evening game drives. The three camps inside the park all has floodlit waterholes to make game viewing possible throughout the night.
These holes are frequently visited by Lions, Black Rhino, Elephant and other game species.
A minimum of 2 days and 1 night is required for the Etosha National Park visit.
OKAVANGO RIVER ECOSYSTEM (Fishing) SAFARI:
This world heritage site is a must to see. It is as unspoiled as when the first settlers laid eyes on it.
It is home to more than 400 bird species, and the river boasts 66 different fish species.
This makes it to be a paradise for the angler, with species such as Tiger fish and various species of Bream being caught regularly.
The river ecology boasts various animals, including species such as Hippos and Crocodiles.
The Mahango National Park is a good place to see some of the rare game species such as Roan Antelope and Sable.
SKELETON COAST SAFARI:
This trip will take you to the world renowned Skeleton Coast. The 3 towns at the coast will be visited, with the historic town of Swakopmund being the most popular.
Some of the world's largestsand dunes can be climbed or viewed from below.
Fishing trips from boats or from the side can be arranged, with shark fishing being very popular.
The two local towns closest to the Engelbrecht Safaris camp has some very interesting historic sites to visit and this can be done on a day trip.
The world's largest remainder of a meteorite to strike earth is also near these towns and are definitely worth a visit.
Near the Engelbrecht Safaris camp is a historic Baobab tree, which is estimated to be approx. 1500 years old.
There is also a small school on a ranch nearby that caters exclusively for Bushmen children from the area. A visit can be arranged by appointment.
If you have interest in any of these excursions while on a hunting trip, do allow for extra days before or after your hunt.
Photographic Safaris can be done throughout the year!
